Description: Let's Go to the Movies Concert
Our annual concert in 2016 saw us return to our spritual home at St Georges.

The theme, this year was the cinema, with all our songs coming from movies.  We opened with our interpretation of the classic Pearl & Dean theme, which cinema goers of all ages will recognise as being an introduction to their evening's viewing, at every cinema visit.  We also built on the theme by using on-screen graphics and video clips/interviews with choir members, which have now become commonplace in our performances.

This performance was also memorable for our cover of David Bowie's Life On Mars, coming so soon after the sad passing of the iconic bisexual singer-songwriter.

Feedback from current and former choir members on the night:
“I had an amazing evening with a great bunch of people – only been in Bristol for 6 months and joining Sing Out has been wonderful – new friends & experiences – FAB”

“This was my first big concert & I was so impressed with the professional & passionate commitment from Ronan, Dan, Dawei, Nick & the whole team. I loved it & felt welcomed by the choir & experience”

“The interview and film clips really added to the show”

“ As a newbie I felt really well supported – it was amazing night – my family & friends were totally blown away”

“The feedback I got from friends was the background screen was fab & the small group singing added something. Only got good feedback. Also that the MD has great musicality”

"I really enjoyed it. The choir is great, very inclusive & supportive & accommodating, being in the choir really adds to my life"

"The choir sang clearly & diction was great. As an audience member it was possible to hear words that often don't come across well in other performances & that I personally had previously been unsure of. The little sing out pastiches were great. Also the VT was great & added a personal touch that's often missing from other choirs that you see. It was a very enjoyable professional evening"

“As a lapsed choir member I wished I was up there with you. However it was so amazing seeing the show that SOB put on. I heard an audience member comment that she even liked My Heart Will go on but hates Celine Dion's version. I myself had goosebumps during Skyfall when it swells. It also moved me so much with the Bowie tribute that I was crying watching the amazing performance”
